New Plan to Gain Back My Confidence

We all have moments where we have low confidence level. Well, it happened to me recently.

I want you to go in front of the mirror right now, look at yourself and ask yourself these 3 questions:

  1. Do you find this person in front of you attractive?
  2. Would you want to date this person?
  3. Can you see this person as a successful person?

Few weeks ago, I asked the above 3 questions when I was looking myself in the mirror, and my answers to all of them were no. In front of me, I saw a guy who didn’t care about his physique and had no motivation to do anything. I wasn’t going through depression, but something just wasn’t right.

Yes, I realized I was going backward (to meet my older self Mark) and I felt off.

I realized I lost my discipline and this led to my loss of confidence.

During that time, jealousy, tiredness, and anger took over my body. I was consuming too much information on social media + chatrooms and this led me to a not so positive path.

In order to turn this around, I had to develop a new plan to help me get back on track. Here is the plan I am currently doing:

8:00am – Wake up, play music with good beats to start my day. No social media or reading emails for the first hour (or sometimes an hour and a half) of the day. Give myself a 5 seconds countdown and wake up. Don’t give excuses to yourself that you should sleep for 5 more minutes.

8:20am – 9:20am – Breakfast, listening to self-improvement podcast (I highly recommend The Mindset Mentor) and meditation. This is the time that our brain can absorb information easily and the right information can start off our day in a positive direction. I highly recommend you to visualize how you want your day to be during this time.

9:20am – 10:00am – Read my emails, do what I need to do on social media. I find that when I have the morning ritual, I can clear out the work tasks in a very quick and efficient manner.

10:00am – 11:30am – Go out for a run, or go out for a walk so your mind can relax. I have been using the Nike Run Club app and it is helping me a lot. I usually run for 30 minutes and then walk around to relax my muscles. If the weather is not permitting me to run, then I do simple exercise inside my house. It’s important to move because this helps the body’s energy to flow.

11:30am – 11:00pm – Go on with my day. Do whatever I need to do.

11:00pm – 12:00am – Stop everything. No social media is allowed during this hour. This is the time I will read a book before going to sleep. I also use the Music Therapy playlist on Spotify to help me sleep better.

So far I am seeing progress with this new change. The exercise is giving me a confidence boost and I become more determined and focused. With less social media distraction, I find I sleep better and have more energy when I wake up. It’s funny that when I look at the mirror right now, I would say to myself, “Wow, I am actually looking good!”

I am not saying you need to follow what I am doing right now. However, if you are not feeling great, then I recommend you to create a new routine to gain back the motivations and confidence.

P.S A new haircut really works too. It helps to transform you from one phase to another.
